Wood and metal accordion designed and manufactured by G. Galleazzi, circa 1888. Elaborately decorated wood inlay in geometric design; added silver tone metal design above key board decorated with floral pattern and cutouts of eagles; keyboard buttons made of mother-of-pearl; mid-section of accordion edged with black cloth and lined with cloth edged with brown leather; brown leather strap attached with decorative metal eight-pointed star mount to side opposite keyboard. Engraved on section with eagles: SAN FRANCISO, CAL. Plaque attached on top states: G. GALLEAZZI/ACCORDION MAKER/478 JACKSON ST./SAN FRANCISCO CAL./PAT. AUG. 18 1888/GOLD MEDAL AWARDED CAL. MID. ESP. Brown leather case.
