Remarks

Carbine, Winchester Model 1892, .44 caliber, lever action, serial number 468096, designed by Kenny "Von Dutch" Howard, made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company, in New Haven, Connecticut, 1908. Many actors on television Westerns were known for using customized firearms. On Wanted: Dead or Alive (1958–1961), star Steve McQueen carried a modified, cut-down Winchester lever-action repeating rifle known as Mare’s Laig (or Mare’s Leg). McQueen gave it that name because he said the gun was like a hog’s leg, only it kicked harder at both ends.
